Dr. Boxin Wanglin began learning about Chinese medicine at the age of 9 and received her MD in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Heilongjiang University in 1987. She then joined the Harbin Orthopaedics and Traumatology Hospital and the Peking University Hospital as a doctor. Her accreditations include:

Dr. Boxin Wanglin started conducting research in 1989 in the Department of Biology at Peking University on herbal plants. She then joined the Institute of Developmental Biology at the Chinese Academy of Science as a research scientist to conduct molecular biology and the response of meridians and nerve systems during the acupuncture process. After moving to Canada, she practised acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, and taught acupuncture and herbal medicine at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, McEwan University and Reeves College in Alberta. Dr. Wanglin also has dedicated much of her time and energy serving on:
- The past President of College & Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA)
- The Acupuncture Examination Board of the CAAA as a Board Examiner
- Previously, the Acupuncture Society of Alberta as the Vice President
- Previously, the Alberta Association of Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors as the Vice President
She is currently a registered acupuncturist in Alberta.
